"Inner Spirit", From the ENCHANTED JOURNEYS OF DESIRE series 

How would your inner Spirit look? Do you listen to it or ignore it? Do you carefully hide it from others or fully embrace it? The self that only you truly know and see. I tried to imagine mine at the Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts residency in Wyoming. This self-portrait depicts the vulnerability of it being discovered, by you, the onlooker.

Artist Statement:

Nika Belianina’s poetic photographs capture not just the outer appearances of things, but their inner emotional significance. Through self-portraiture, movement and predominantly in-camera techniques, Nika creates characters full of magic and cinematic mystery. She captures an introspective odyssey, where the settings mirror the internal mindscapes of yearning souls. For her, photography is not just a means of self-expression, it is a call to pause, reflect and to let imagination take you on a journey far and beyond.
