Unforgettable winds is a vibrant exploration of textures and earth tones, evoking the untamed beauty of the natural world. It presents multiple layers of flowing lines, guiding the viewer into an abstract realm where imagination reigns. The piece invoke a sense of tranquility and serenity, akin to the gentle whisper of the wind through a quiet forest. Each stroke and hue is carefully chosen to create a harmonious balance, reflecting the peaceful coexistence found in the wild. The artwork invites viewers to pause and reflect, offering a moment of calm amidst the chaos of everyday life. My artistic journey began forty years ago when I started my college studies as a fashion designer. Fuelled by a passion for sketching distinctive clothing characterized by bold lines and vibrant colours, I gradually transitioned into the world of faux finishing techniques. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Art Teaching and a certificate in faux finishing from Yannick Guegan's institute in France.
Artist Statement
Over the years, I have continually cultivated my love for art, captivated by the interplay of shapes, lines, and layers that create a rich tapestry of both deep and translucent textures. In my artwork, I embrace an intuitive creative process, allowing my gestures to flow organically, guided by instinct rather than meticulous planning, as I delve into movement and colour. I fully immerse myself in textures, seeking lines and forms that resonate with me on a profound level. I work with vibrant acrylics and inks that provide stunning transparency. After crafting a lively and colorful narrative, I enhance each piece by adding fine lines to create contrast, emphasizing the overall shapes and contours. Throughout this creative journey, I find joy in deepening the artwork with colour glazes of ink. Each completed piece stands as a testament to the dynamic stories of texture and hue that I bring to life.
