Between the towering willow trees a child-like figure runs through Chalmette Battlefield where the Battle Of New Orleans took place in 1815, along the Mississippi River. Often considered the birthplace of American democracy over European entitlement, the battle saw General Andrew Jackson’s army win the day against a numerically superior force.
