Artist Statement
I have always been drawn to the unexpected ‘magic’ moments that happen in ordinary places — a gesture, expression, light or juxtaposition that can turn an ordinary scene into a story. My photography moves between street, landscape and the built environment, but people and their relationship to place are often at its core. I am particularly drawn to color, light, architecture and the visual layers of city life. I rarely begin with a predetermined idea; I walk, observe and respond to what catches my eye.
