Monet’s Bequest to Us

Monet has given us a gift in paint that has come down through the ages. The first moment I saw his work, I was lost to the mystery of his strokes.  Ponds have captured my soul, they call me, and challenge me to paint with the purest of emotion.  I find the strokes explode from my brush with time meaning nothing to me. The canvas and the brush are my world while creating. This painting is my reverence to Monet.  

Artist Statement

Life for me has been a long and often difficult journey that has thankfully lead me to become a painter.  It was my first love, it was a place to escape and create my own world.  No doubt, it is the baseline for the emotional strokes that define my work.  I prefer paint to words. Studying art was a joy beyond all things, the light, the colour and the movement drew me into challenging myself every time I picked up a paint brush. The opportunity to travel and visit galleries and museums was invaluable.
