Stacey Wells’ unique mixology combines these elements with a twist. Having a bit of fun with the lyrics of Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze song.

The real lyrics are “Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky,” which are often mis-sung as “Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy.” 

Wells had a bit of fun by putting an iPhone in Hendrix’s hands and changing the lyrics to “Scuse Me While I Text This Guy.” 

In this art, Stacey Wells combines classic rock with a vintage style and the Pop Culture of iPhones and humour.

Stacey Wells’ wine art series, Rock Star Reflections was so popular that she was invited to hang her art on either side of the Kiss Axe guitar at a private gallery event with Gene Simmons.

Steven Tyler came across Wells’ painting of him at a gallery in Wailea; the gallery owner said, “he loved it and had to have it.” He later revealed that when he delivered other art to Tyler’s home, he saw Stacey Wells’ art hanging there in his bedroom alongside art by other famed artists.

The Hard Rock Hotel International fell in love with Stacey Wells’ art and commissioned her to createartworks for its hotel in Atlantic City. Her Whitney Houston art hung at the entrance to the High Rollers lounge at the grand opening.

Hugh Hefner loved Stacey’s art so much that he invited Wells to the Playboy Mansion for dinner.

The NFL Raiders commissioned Stacey Wells to create several artworks for the VIP suite level in Allegiant Stadium.

BIO:

Artist Stacey Wells grew up in the beauty of North Vancouver. When Stacey was the tender age of two, her father, Warner Wells, was tragically killed in a plane crash when someone put a bomb on the airplane he was piloting. Due tothis, Wells spent countless hours at her grandparents on the waterfront in West Vancouver. While spending many enjoyable days skipping rocks on the ocean with her grandfather, Wells fell in love with reflections.

Years later, Stacey travelled with her mom and sisters to Australia, where they lived out their father’s dream of taking his family there. With stays in Fiji and Hawaii along the way, Stacey cataloged the colours and sights in her mind’s eye, eventually unleashing them in her large, vibrant acrylic paintings.  While in Fiji, Wells bought a transistor radio, which she put under her pillow and fell asleep to rock ‘n roll each night. Music became her greatest inspiration.

At age 12, she drew her first portrait of Rod Stewart from an album cover. The milestone sparked her passion for drawing faces and painting portraits.

 Wells flourished with great mentors in commercial design, lithography and sculpture. Stacey excelled in sculpture and won a scholarship award for her work. Her early artworks were inspired by Andrew Wyeth; she credits her technical drawing skills to hours spent studying his work. As the years progressed, Stacey found new inspiration in artists such as Warhol, Gauguin, Van Gogh and Dali. Stacey’s style loosened up, and with each passionate brush stroke, she created her own, unique style.

  Decades later, Wells travelled to Napa Valley for a reunion with her girlfriends; after visiting Cosentino Winery, Wells was inspired by their rock star-worthy wine and created a series of art she calls “RockStar Reflections.” She wanted to reflect the great times they had with music and wine, ultimately capturing "Time in a Bottle" to enjoy forever. Each artwork will bring the viewer back to their special moment. The collectable bottle series is the perfect canvas art to hang in your space and start a conversation. Wells’ “RockStar Reflections” wine bottle artworks inspired several series of wine bottle paintings, making it the perfect collectible art. The Message in a Bottle series became so popular thatWells was invited to have her first show at a private event with Gene Simmons, where Wells’ art hung on either side of the KISS Axe Bass Guitar.

 Wells was drawn to the Sunset Strip, inspired by music, cool rockers, looks, unique characters and the glow of stage lighting. Commemorating the Sunset Strip on canvas, Stacey Wells captured the essence of some of the greatest bands that got their start on the Sunset Strip, including local musicians making their way today. 

Wells’ Vintage Hollywood Pop art was inspired by stories told to her by the bartender at the famous Ingleside Inn in Palm Springs, about the good old days when Hollywood stars made Palm Springs their playground. “If These Walls Could Talk” is a series that brings you back to those good old days, making you wish the walls could talk. Each piece sets the mood for a Hollywood party, and the walls tell the stories.

Stacey Wells is a mixologist of art, music, wine, pop culture, history and humour, creating edgy pop art that brings back the essence of time and sparks a conversation.

Art collectors worldwide collect Wells’ art, including celebrities such as Steven Tyler, Sean Stewart and Hugh Hefner. Hefner loved her art so much that he invited her to have dinner at the Playboy Mansion with him, his family and a few close friends.
