“Parc de  Belleville” May 9th, 2024

Parc de Belleville, a hilltop park in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, is a haven of urban greenery where time slows down for communal experiences of joie de vivre. And time indeed stood still as my eye danced across a vista of interactions and vignettes to delight in the bliss of May sunshine.

Artist’s Statement:

I am a figurative painter who delights in capturing what is extraordinary in the ordinary. My artistic practice arises from interactions and encounters that provoke wonder and empathy. I seek to capture gestures, moods, and environments in pencil or gouache, and translate such intuitive artistic expressions into oil paintings. My work is drawn from ephemeral moments of reflection, through which I strive to render a perspective of the world in all its uniqueness and singularity. Found moments, chance encounters, and simple pleasures continue to elicit in me a call and response often rooted in empathy, solidarity, or joy!
