The Elaine Fleck Gallery kicks off Nuit Blanche with world-renowned photographer Cylla Von Tiedemann. She is an award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. She has photographed some of the world’s top performers in dance, theatre, music, visual art and film for more than two decades.

Recognized by the National Arts Centre, her work spans from creative interpretations of the National Ballet of Canada, Stratford Festival and Mirvish Productions to the SILK road Project by Yo-Yo Ma and the Toronto Symphony.

Her new exhibition "InVention", at The Elaine Fleck Gallery, is a departure from her photography of 25 years.

"…images from the unconscious, inspired stories from within, and dream
landscapes"

Most of the visual material was gathered within 2 years, when she was traveling and working with Margie Gillis and other artists in Norway and the East and West Coasts of Canada. She then combined images from these different times and places to create a "new reality" within each piece.

"…the work touches on my experience about a transcendence of our planet and a new consciousness which is arising and which is interesting to me."

Elaine opens her gallery doors on Saturday, October 4th 2008 from 6:52 - 10 pm on 859 College Street West with live music, cocktails and Toronto’s Glitterati. |
