Artist Statement: Hiking along the waterways of Killarney off Georgian Bay last summer, I was struck by the unique formations of the large rocks that hugged the coast and dotted the water’s surface. The countenance of some of these rocky, organic shapes suggested to me a giant species of hungry amphibian and my aim upon returning to the studio was to capture this reverie on canvas.
