FLECK FINE ART EXHIBITION JUNE 2022
PATRICIA SALIK, Pointless Perspective 12
Golden acrylic paint
Patricia Salik is a Toronto based architect and artist exploring the creation and representation of space. Like architectural design, which demands the inside and outside to be considered simultaneously, her paintings embody the tension between the two-dimensional image and its depiction of three-dimensional space. The use of value and form draw the viewer past the surface. Layering provides dimension and bold colour juxtaposition strikes the viewer with its intensity and honesty.
Patricia’s compositions are both analytical and experiential. The themes of conflict with time, self, knowledge, and belief define her work. Each painting, a unique expression of exuberance, is created by layering fine acrylic paints and with attention to every detail.
